L’Expressions Photography bio picture

Welcome

I believe that I what I do is not about pictures on paper. It’s about making a connection. Photography is a medium to freeze time and remember those precious moments that make us smile.

Custom Photography is the center of my services. It is about finding someone who will photograph your family and give you devoted 1:1 attention. The client, you and your experience is in the center of custom photography. Going to a chain studio, as a consumer, you don’t have the benefit of 1:1 attention at your home or favorite location where you feel comfortable, and your child is allowed to explore and play. Custom photography is based on being unique to you.

I like to capture lovely, natural expressions rather than static studio pictures. My goal is to create valuable portraits by revealing the essence of childhood, each individual’s personality, relationship, and the emotions of the moment.

Please take your time and go through the pages of my blog. I will be using it the share with you the latest news, promotions and images. My clients will have the benefit to see previews of their session photos, also known as “sneak peeks.” Thank you for letting me photograph you and your family, and for sharing your story with me.

Feel free to subscribe to receive email notifications when the blog is updated.

Pottery Barn Kids at Oakbrook Mall

Finally the moment you’ve been all waiting for… After 3 long days of shooting at Pottery Barn Kids, Oakbrook Mall, the photos are ready for you to view. These are just sneak peeks for those that were ok to post their portraits online.

The days were a little longer for me since I normally shoot just a couple sessions a day. I know it’s challenging to get good results in only 20 minutes or so but look at the results. It was fun to meet you all and make some new friends.

To view the images, visit the following page: Pottery Barn Kids Sneak Peeks

To me this was a contract job with Precious Time Photography. They’re a national company, subcontracting local photographers to run these sessions locally. Janie & Jack stores are also running a similar promotion in mid-October, and I’ll be shooting at Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg. As you can see from my website, the majority of my portrait sessions are on location and outside.

Feel free to look around and contact me if you have any questions. Looking forward to see you all again!

Outside Session for 1st Birthday

This little guy will be turning ONE next month. His family wanted to go out for a laidback photo session in their garden. The weather was beautiful, and this boy was so relaxed. He did really well in front of the camera, and kept me giving me such cute expressions. I enjoyed him and his family so much. Here are a few sneak peek photos.

Studio Session for 1st Birthday

This little lady came for her 1st Birthday pictures. She was such happy doll, giving smiles to everyone. She looked like a princess in her new white dress. I loved all her expressions. Happy Birthday, dear lady!

Posting a few photos for mom and dad to enjoy!

Christmas Cards…. Are you kidding me?

I can’t believe I’m talking about Christmas cards but it’s mid-September. If you plan to send out some nice Christmas cards with your family or kids photos, please realize that it takes some time to schedule portrait sessions, and to design and receive the cards. I advise all my clients to start planning for Christmas cards early because we may not have enough time later. I’d love to create some custom Christmas cards for your family, and have a variety of templates to choose from. Below are some of the cards. These are all press-printed products, and can be printed on glossy or pearl paper. The deadline for ordering Christmas card is November 28.

Autumn Sessions

This family was my first session for the fall season. They wanted to do family portraits in the park. These sessions are so popular in September and October.  The fall foliage creates beautiful sceneries.  The yellow, green and golden tones are perfect for portraits outside.  Schedule your session while the weather still permits for photos in the park or backyard.

Vacation Photos from This Summer

This summer, we went back to Bulgaria for a month stay. We had a great time there, meeting relatives and family. This was my son’s first airplane trip, and it wasn’t fun flying for 12 hours with an 18 month old.  The best part of the vacation was a week at the beach at Black Sea Cost.  We couldn’t stop taking pictures… we had a blast. Here are some of my favorites. I hope you like them too. Soon we’ll be all missing the warm and sunny days.

On a Personal Note

I wanted to share with you something more about me and my family. Originally, I’m from Bulgaria, and English is my 2nd language. I have a boy, Martin, who is year and seven months old. He is a very active boy, full of energy and loves to explore the world. My husband is very supportive of my business, and sometimes he acts as my assistant. He is a great photographer too however he has his own business. He does commercial wiring and network solutions. His website is www.orbitelgroup.com.

For many years, I worked as a business analyst in the financial industry. As matter of fact, I love new technologies and software, and enjoy spending a good amount of time on my computer.  My other interests are psychology and artificial intelligence. At some point of my life, I was thinking about becoming a psychologist.  This was one of my ideas that did not happen. Instead I went to DePaul University and studied Information Systems.

Photography has always been my hobby however after the birth of my son my interest exploded. I was determined to take my skills and knowledge to the next level. I became so involved that I decided to start my own business and to dedicate my time and efforts to photography. In the mean time, I said  “Good Bye” to my day job at the bank, and became free to devote all my energy to my business.  I’m very passionate about photography and I love what I do.  This is what drives me, and this is what motivates me in my life. I’m always thinking about creating the next large print for my walls or the next beautiful photo book.

I’m looking forward to sharing my passion with you, and creating timeless memories for you and your families.
